Mozambique launches platform for business registration

Among those who create a startup or dream of owning a company in Mozambique, one of the difficulties frequently mentioned is the legalization of the idea, that is, the official registration of the company for its operations. This is motivated by bureaucracy that tends to make the process long and tiring.

As a way of boosting the process of opening a company locally, Mozambique launched an online platform where entrepreneurs can register their brand/company without the need to approach the service desk.

The service can now be accessed through the registration and notary service website (www.utente.srn.gov.mz/) which made it known that individuals who wish to open a company will be able to carry out this procedure electronically and pay through mobile wallet, M-Pesa or bank.

According to what is read on the website, the main objective of the solution is to minimize the waiting time for users at the registry offices, allowing prior scheduling of service, allowing the remote submission of processes.

To register, the user must first click on the desired area, then select the action they wish to carry out, be it the submission of a registration or amendment or a list of beneficial owners, and follow the subsequent steps.

Apart from name reservation and registration, on this platform, it is possible to carry out civil registrations such as requesting certificates, changing the marriage regime, name changes, birth registration among other processes.

The list of services also includes the possibility of carrying out vehicle registration, notarial acts, land registration, criminal registration and central registrations.

Over recent times, the Mozambican government has been digitizing the process of accessing public services, as is the case for the processing of documents such as Identity Cards and Passports, which are now possible to make an appointment online. the service.

Passport processing is carried out through the National Migration Service (SENAMI) portal, while the Identity Card (ID) process is carried out through the National Directorate of Civil Identification (DNIC) portal.

Apart from these public services, the promotion of electronic payments has been highlighted, through mobile wallets that allow the public the possibility of paying for various services such as energy, water, television and broadcasting fees.

In the context of digital wallets, M-Pesa, managed by the Vodacom mobile phone network, stands out, followed by Movitel’s Emola and TMcel’s Mkesh.
